She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, has extensive lactation training, and is working towards becoming an IBCLC. She has been a Registered Nurse since 2019 and a parent support specialist since 2022. Through her practice, The Intuitive Parent, she focuses on an evidence-informed, mother-centered approach, offering personalized support.

Jeanelle became a lactation consultant due to her own experiences with inadequate support for alternative birth plans. Her journey with her son, who had a hidden upper lip and tongue tie, emphasized the importance of trusting maternal intuition. This realization motivated her to help other mothers navigate breastfeeding challenges. Jeanelle is passionate about undisturbed and physiological births, enjoys sharing and listening to birth stories, and regularly speaks on podcasts about birth and parenthood. She also runs a playgroup in Perth, providing support for early parenthood while engaging children in play-based learning.
